About
I am a Yorkshire based artist who’s paintings explore themes of place, connection and home.
I have a deep, life-long connection to my surroundings, both in the local landscapes I have long explored, and through visits to places further a field, connections to people from other places, and places inspired by storytellers.
I enjoy an experimental approach to painting, creating varied, colourful interpretations of landscapes and seascapes which illicit the essence of a place in an emotional and joyful way. I work mainly with acrylic paint on canvas board, building layers and texture to create paintings which evoke an emotional and familiar response, allowing the viewer to feel the atmosphere of a place.
My paintings offer the viewer a celebration of the joy our natural surroundings can bring, and the imperfect rugged beauty of landscapes and seascapes.
